The Convenience and Quality of Telepsychiatry
We know that finding the time to prioritize mental health can be difficult with the demands of daily life. Telepsychiatry allows you to meet with a licensed psychiatrist or mental health professional from the comfort of your own home, using secure video conferencing technology.
Telepsychiatry provides the same high standard of care as in-person visits, but with the added convenience of flexibility. Whether you’re managing a busy schedule, have mobility issues, or prefer to avoid long commutes, telepsychiatry makes it easier to fit mental health care into your life. You’ll receive the same personalized care, whether it's for medication management, therapy, or follow-up appointments, without the hassle of traveling to the clinic.
For many, telepsychiatry offers a sense of privacy and ease that can make the process of seeking help less daunting. We are proud to offer this option to ensure that everyone in Pittsboro has access to quality mental health care, regardless of their circumstances.
Innovative Mental Health Treatments: TMS Therapy in Pittsboro
Our compassionate team is dedicated to bringing the most advanced mental health treatments to our community. One effective treatment we use is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive therapy that has been shown to be highly effective for people with depression who have not responded well to traditional treatments like medication or talk therapy.
TMS works by using magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the brain that are involved in mood regulation. This treatment is particularly effective for those with treatment-resistant depression, offering new hope when other methods haven’t provided relief. The therapy is performed in our office and typically requires multiple sessions over several weeks. TMS is painless and has minimal side effects, making it an appealing option for many individuals.
We are proud to offer TMS therapy in Pittsboro as part of our commitment to providing innovative, evidence-based treatments for our patients. If you’ve struggled with depression and haven’t found relief through other means, TMS could be the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.
SPRAVATO® for Treatment-Resistant Depression
In addition to TMS, we are excited to offer Spravato® (esketamine), another groundbreaking treatment for treatment-resistant depression. Spravato is an FDA-approved nasal spray that works differently from traditional antidepressants. It targets the NMDA receptors in the brain, helping to restore connections between brain cells and improve mood.
Spravato is used in conjunction with an oral antidepressant and is administered under medical supervision at our Pittsboro clinic. This treatment has shown significant results for individuals who have not experienced improvement with other antidepressants. After receiving Spravato, patients are monitored for a brief period to ensure safety before going home.
Spravato has been a game-changer for many individuals dealing with severe depression, offering new possibilities for relief and recovery. Our team in Pittsboro is highly experienced in administering this treatment and is here to guide you through the process, offering support every step of the way.

Ketamine Treatment AND Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
These two treatments have risen to show their effectiveness over recent years, and literature is showing them to be among the most effective treatments for many psychiatric disorders.
Ketamine has shown itself to be particularly effective with treatment-resistant depression or TRD, post-traumatic-stress-disorder or PTSD, social anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Provided in a series of infusions, or oral or nasal spray, ketamine brings a dramatic difference the first infusion in some, but more often the change is experienced during and after the third, fourth, or fifth infusion.
TMS is a non-medication and non-invasive treatment that requires placement of a magnetic coil over the left dorsolateral prefontal cortex daily for about 20 minutes at a time. This continues daily for about 30-45 days. But you can begin to experience a real difference in 14 days. TMS can be effective in treatment resistant depression and other mood disorders.

WHY OPEN THE NC INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED NEUROHEALTH?
As Dr. Saranga worked 10 years as a psychiatrist with his patients, he’s been distressed by the
percentage of them who did not respond to traditional antidepressants and anxiolytics. He
researched and scrutinized to find treatments that would bring relief to that segment of his
practice. His determination to find help for these patients eventually led to his opening:
